We’re proud to share that two members of Team Cooke Bailey were recognized for their outstanding research at East Carolina University’s Research and Creative Achievement Week (RCAW) 2025!
Kendall Pixley, undergraduate researcher, received top honors in the Human Health category for her presentation,“Bridging Rural Inequities in Diabetes and Glaucoma Education and Screening in North Carolina (BRIDGES-NC)”. Kendall is mentored by Briana McIntosh and contributes to our team’s work improving vision health access in rural communities.
Osahon Jeffery Asowata, PhD, postdoctoral scholar, was awarded in the Graduate Student & Postdoctoral Poster Presentation – Human Health category for his research,“Sex and Race/Ethnic Differences in the Effect of Comorbidity on Glaucoma among Older Adults in the United States: Findings from the Health and Retirement Study.”
Both projects reflect our lab’s mission to address complex health disparities through interdisciplinary and community-focused research. Congratulations to Kendall and Osahon on this well-deserved recognition!
